Blog EntryA Bad and Scary Experience at The Festival MallJan 13, '08 11:18 AM
for everyone

This happened on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008 at The Festival Mall, Alabang.  Family and friends,be warned.

We went to the 3pm Worship Service at the Victory Christian Fellowship in Festival Mall today.  I was with my 4 children.  After the service we were walking around the mall to find a place to eat.  My daughter asked to pass by Toytown.  While the children were there, I went next door to have a look.  As I walked out the store a lady with a young boy in her arms smiled warmly at me and greeted me, "Uy, kamusta ka na?"  I wasn't sure if I have seen this lady before.  Thinking that she may be someone I've met at VCF in the past, I smiled at her but asked her who she is and where we've met.  Still smiling, she said that she's seen me walking around Festival often and even said that she's seen me since last year when I was still pregnant.  I was carrying my 7 month old baby so it was pretty obvious that I was pregnant last year.  I still was thinking that she may be someone I've met last year at church.  Then she asked me where I am from.  I'm already thinking she's just hitting on me so I said I went to church at VCF.  So she said, "Ganon ba? Hanggang 7(pm) ba ang mass diyan?" That's when I confirmed that she's definitely not someone I've met at VCF, otherwise she would not have said 'mass' for our Worship Service.  Then she tells me that she also goes to Word for the World in San Pedro and that she knows a sister Len Santos at VCF.  In fact, she went to Festival today to speak to 'Sister Len Santos'.  She even described her as somebody tall and beautiful.  Then she lowers her voice to an almost whisper that I couldn't hear her.  She starts telling me that since 'Sister Len' is not around upstairs, can she just share her problem with me?  All the while she's talking, she's looking at my bag.  Kinikilatis niya ako kumbaga.  I was also looking at her and thinking that she's a fake and just wants to hit on me.  So she's talking so low, I hardly can hear her.  Maybe this was meant for me to move closer to her.  But instead of doing that, I was moving away from her, getting ready to turn my back.  The last thing I heard from her was "kahit P50.00 lang".  And I hurriedly said "pasensya, wala akong pera" then immediately turned around.  I was so scared because I've heard that these people work in groups.  So I hurriedly took my kids and went home.

I'm writing this for people to be warned.  I knew that I was a target to these people because I had kids with me and I was carrying my baby in my arms.  It's also the reason why I don't bring a lot of things with me when I'm going out with my children. My daughter tells me that there's an actual Len Santos in VCF.  I'm sure she's not involved with these people.  The name is quite common anyway. But somebody is using her name.  Hope everybody will take note.

Ate Len Santos is uhm... not that tall. (Sorry Ate Len! But you're beautiful. Hehe!)

That lady who approached you has the signs of a con. God protects his people. Glad nothing happened sa inyo.

Yes, Beth has met her already. I was surprised when she said that there's a real Len Santos. She's really a con. And the Lord is faithful and protects His children. I believe that because I'm also fasting, the enemy is doing everything to scare me and distract me at this time.

Definitely a scammer. Sayang, you could've dangled some bait tapos as soon as she made a sneaky move, report agad sa guards. Hehe!

Then again, I'm sure as a parent, the responsible thing to do would be to get your children out of any threatening situations ASAP. Glad you and the kids are safe and sound.

Aren't there any security cameras that could've ID'd the person involved para ma-blotter (blotter nga ba ang tawag dun?)

Hmm... sa totoo lang, I was so scared, all I could think of was to get all of us out of there. I keep thinking that they all work in groups. She may have turned away from me, but there still may be others observing us. The strange thing is that, when I tried to talk to the entrance guard about it, the guard didn't seem to be that interested. He just said, "Manloloko lang yan, mam".

yikes!! scary... i've had scary moments too. but when things like these happens i always tell myself that it's an opportunity to develop myself. i cry sometimes but after a while i stand up and face my fear. Hmph.. maybe that's the reason why I tried bungy. hehehe.

there's this one time naligaw ako sa isang weird area in the city. Alam mo naman SA is known for its crime. this one guy pa wanted to get into my car sabi ko "NO!! why would i let you in? i don't even know you!". i wanted to cry pero ayoko naman pakita coz he might think i'm so weak. so after the whole incident i prayed and said "whew! next time this thing happens, i know exactly what to do"

Oh gosh! I'm so sorry this happened to you! I don't know this woman but I HAVE introduced myself to people when they ask about my small group or something. I feel so bad that she used my name to con you! I'm just glad you're too smart for her. Hah!
