This happened on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008 at The Festival Mall, Alabang. Family and friends,be warned.
We went to the 3pm Worship Service at the Victory Christian Fellowship in Festival Mall today. I was with my 4 children. After the service we were walking around the mall to find a place to eat. My daughter asked to pass by Toytown. While the children were there, I went next door to have a look. As I walked out the store a lady with a young boy in her arms smiled warmly at me and greeted me, "Uy, kamusta ka na?" I wasn't sure if I have seen this lady before. Thinking that she may be someone I've met at VCF in the past, I smiled at her but asked her who she is and where we've met. Still smiling, she said that she's seen me walking around Festival often and even said that she's seen me since last year when I was still pregnant. I was carrying my 7 month old baby so it was pretty obvious that I was pregnant last year. I still was thinking that she may be someone I've met last year at church. Then she asked me where I am from. I'm already thinking she's just hitting on me so I said I went to church at VCF. So she said, "Ganon ba? Hanggang 7(pm) ba ang mass diyan?" That's when I confirmed that she's definitely not someone I've met at VCF, otherwise she would not have said 'mass' for our Worship Service. Then she tells me that she also goes to Word for the World in San Pedro and that she knows a sister Len Santos at VCF. In fact, she went to Festival today to speak to 'Sister Len Santos'. She even described her as somebody tall and beautiful. Then she lowers her voice to an almost whisper that I couldn't hear her. She starts telling me that since 'Sister Len' is not around upstairs, can she just share her problem with me? All the while she's talking, she's looking at my bag. Kinikilatis niya ako kumbaga. I was also looking at her and thinking that she's a fake and just wants to hit on me. So she's talking so low, I hardly can hear her. Maybe this was meant for me to move closer to her. But instead of doing that, I was moving away from her, getting ready to turn my back. The last thing I heard from her was "kahit P50.00 lang". And I hurriedly said "pasensya, wala akong pera" then immediately turned around. I was so scared because I've heard that these people work in groups. So I hurriedly took my kids and went home.
I'm writing this for people to be warned. I knew that I was a target to these people because I had kids with me and I was carrying my baby in my arms. It's also the reason why I don't bring a lot of things with me when I'm going out with my children. My daughter tells me that there's an actual Len Santos in VCF. I'm sure she's not involved with these people. The name is quite common anyway. But somebody is using her name. Hope everybody will take note.
